Celebrate the Solstice with us in a truly unique style - this is not what you expected!
Service Description
On the day of the longest night of the year, we embrace all the natural elements in a truly unique Winter Solstice celebration. SUNDAY 21 DECEMBER 3 - 7PM *Expect this event to last up to 4 hours* Hosted by the wonderful, Saunahood, we offer you the opportunity to embrace all elements; earth, water, fire, air, wood and metal - in celebrating the present, letting go of the past and looking to the future. We embrace Yin/Yang of our earth and of our beings, the darkness and the light. Earth - Ground and connect with slow Yin Yoga practice. Nourish your body with comforting, plant-based food and drinks, including ethical, ceremonial cacao. Water - Take a cold plunge - representing rebirth, awakening, and emergence Fire - Spend time in the cosy saunas - our symbol of fire, heat, and purification — burning away the old year, old energy, and darkness Air - harness the power of breath, though guided breathing practices to soothe the nervous system and de-clutter the mind Wood - "Surrender what no longer serves you" embark upon a traditional Yule gathering with us, burning away negative forces and looking to the future with clarity Metal - Energise the metal element of the body, with Yin Yoga and contrast therapy. Metal represents breath, the respiratory system, removing excess waste from the body. This event will take place in an outdoor environment. Yin practice will take place in a cosy bell tent but the outdoor temperature will affect the space - so please bring fluffy socks/slippers and warm clothes that allow for movement and comfort. Blankets, mats and props will be provided. This extra-special event is being delivered by three female practitioners: Ellen (Saunahood) - Sauna master and host Chez (Body Physical) - Yoga and Fitness specialist Shaz (Nourishing Nut) - Plant-based (Vegan) retreat chef What to bring with you: Sauna Large towel for drying, small towel for sitting upon, swimwear, changing robe/dressing gown, warm and comfortable clothing to change into afterwards (something that is easy to get on!)
