    Saturdays 8:30am - Woodthorpe Park Wednesdays 6:00pm - Woodthorpe Park Looking for a fun and effective way to improve your fitness, stamina, and muscle strength? Join us for Free-Range Fitness at Woodthorpe Grange Park every Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30 a and Wednesdays from 6:00 - 7:00pm. We're not a running club. We are not a bootcamp. We are a friendly, welcoming end effective exercise group, suitable for all levels of ability. Come experience the benefits of outdoor exercise, with a new workout every week! Throughout Spring - Autumn we offer extra Free-range Fitness sessions. Check the class calendar regularly for updates!

  • Winter Solstice Well-being Event

    On the day of the longest night of the year, we embrace all the natural elements in a truly unique Winter Solstice celebration. SUNDAY 21 DECEMBER 3 - 7PM *Expect this event to last up to 4 hours* Hosted by the wonderful, Saunahood, we offer you the opportunity to embrace all elements; earth, water, fire, air, wood and metal - in celebrating the present, letting go of the past and looking to the future. We embrace Yin/Yang of our earth and of our beings, the darkness and the light. Earth - Ground and connect with slow Yin Yoga practice. Nourish your body with comforting, plant-based food and drinks, including ethical, ceremonial cacao. Water - Take a cold plunge - representing rebirth, awakening, and emergence Fire - Spend time in the cosy saunas - our symbol of fire, heat, and purification — burning away the old year, old energy, and darkness Air - harness the power of breath, though guided breathing practices to soothe the nervous system and de-clutter the mind Wood - "Surrender what no longer serves you" embark upon a traditional Yule gathering with us, burning away negative forces and looking to the future with clarity Metal - Energise the metal element of the body, with Yin Yoga and contrast therapy. Metal represents breath, the respiratory system, removing excess waste from the body. This event will take place in an outdoor environment. Yin practice will take place in a cosy bell tent but the outdoor temperature will affect the space - so please bring fluffy socks/slippers and warm clothes that allow for movement and comfort. Blankets, mats and props will be provided. This extra-special event is being delivered by three female practitioners: Ellen (Saunahood) - Sauna master and host Chez (Body Physical) - Yoga and Fitness specialist Shaz (Nourishing Nut) - Plant-based (Vegan) retreat chef What to bring with you: Sauna Large towel for drying, small towel for sitting upon, swimwear, changing robe/dressing gown, warm and comfortable clothing to change into afterwards (something that is easy to get on!) Yoga Warm, comfortable clothes (layers are helpful), fluffy socks/slippers, blanket (optional) Outdoor celebrations Warm, weatherproof outdoor clothing & footwear, bobble hat, gloves, scarf etc Additional extras 1 log for the fire (this will be your offering to the Yule ritual)

    Shaz (Nourishing Nut) is passionate about healthy food and she's here to share her skills! Join our trained plant-based, retreat chef for a hands-on workshop in the art of fermentation. Learn how to improve your gut health, and take away your home-made kraut, to impress your friends and family. All plant based. All delicious.

  • Feel Good Fitness

    Wednesdays 6:00pm - Sherwood Community Centre Join us at Body Physical for our Feel-good Fitness class every Wednesday at the Sherwood Community Centre from 6:00 - 6:50pm. Designed to music, this class is the fun way to fitness, helping to boost your aerobic fitness, muscle strength, tone, and stamina. With a range of fitness styles taught and no two classes the same, our fusion of aerobics, body conditioning, and sport-inspired training will keep you on your toes and leave you feeling great. How to find us: Our Sherwood Community Centre fitness classes are now held in the Main Hall! On arrival, you can park in the SCC car park and enter the building via main reception. Please arrive in plenty of time for changing and using the facilities, in time for a prompt start.

  • Well Women: Mum & Baby Yoga

    Bring your bundle of joy to class with Breathe & Bloom. This session blends gentle postnatal Yoga to help rebuild strength and release tension with baby yoga stretches, songs and swings that support your baby's development and bring plenty of smiles! There's also time to relax, bond with your little one and connect with other mums in a warm, welcoming environment. If you had a straightforward vaginal birth, you are able to join 6 weeks post birth. If you had an abdominal birth or assisted delivery, it's 12 weeks post birth.   • Well Women: Yin Yoga & Sound Bath

    Take your Yoga practice deeper. Yin Yoga brings the opportunity for deep tissue release and regeneration. This practice is slow, steady and still - providing your body with an extra level of nourishment and gentle support. In this class we harness the use of props and blankets to allow the body to sink deeper into postures, with mind, breathe and body connection. Crystal singing bowls will be used for this session, to add a soothing soundscape to your experience. Find your stillness and tap into your inner calm with us.

    Pregnancy Yoga classes give you an opportunity to take some time to focus on your own emotional and physical wellbeing whilst bonding with your baby away from the business of day to day life. Other benefits of pregnancy yoga:​ Reduces stress and anxiety. Can improve sleep. Helps ease the process of supporting your ever changing body and growing belly. Minimises aches and pains. Can be supportive in preparation for labour and birth. Helps you to connect with your growing baby. Helps increase strength and flexibility. Focused breath work helps bring much needed oxygen to your baby and your muscles

  • Slow Flow Yoga - single class

    Slow Flow Yoga is the perfect wind-down Yoga class to bring a close to your day. Slow Yoga Flow brings you grounded Hatha Yoga at a slower pace, to invoke restoration, a sense of calm and promote better sleep. Join us for a one-off, Slow Flow Yoga class - 60 minutes of mindful movement, breath and body connection. Aaaaand relax. This class is ideal for beginners, those who have practiced for a while or for those of you who prefer a welcome wind-down for your evening, to help prepare you for the day ahead. Please BYO Yoga mat (contact us via email if you need to borrow one - bodyphysical@yahoo.co.uk), comfy layers, turn up and settle in for some YOU time. See you on the mat. How to find us: Our Sherwood Community Centre courses and classes are now held in the Annex studio. On arrival, you can park in the SCC car park and walk along a short path to the right of the main reception. You will find the external door to the Annex at the end of the path. The external door will open 5-10 minutes before the start of the class. Please arrive in plenty of time for changing, using the facilities and in time for a prompt start.

  • Cacao, Yoga & Sound Experience

    Immerse yourself in the divine trilogy of ceremonial cacao, Yoga and sound bathing during our extended healing experience. This special experience lasts around 2h 15mins and brings you a full-purity cacao ceremony, gentle, heart-filled Yoga practice plus an intimate and immersive sound bath. Whether you are new to these elements or a seasoned practitioner, this experience is suitable for all. Important information: Please bring your own Yoga mat and blanket for the session (or a large towel, if you don't have a blanket), plus a bottle of water - you will need to stay hydrated for the duration of the session. In order to enhance the health benefits of the cacao, we recommend that you fast for the morning. Alternatively, try not to eat for 4 hours prior to the practice. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for freedom of movement and we recommend wearing layers, as your body temperature will vary throughout the experience and bare foot practice will be required during some of the Yoga practice. If you usually use bolsters for your Yoga practice, please feel free to bring your own along with you. Alternatively, a cushion/pillow/rolled up blanket could be used in a similar way. We both thoroughly look forward to sharing this unique collaboration between Chez and Shaz with you. P.S. We like to make our events as accessible as possible.   • Slow Yoga Flow: 3-weeks DEC

    Slow Yoga Flow incorporates Hatha Yoga practice, at a steadier pace. These classes are incorporate a more ground-based practice, crafted to instill calm and quiet, just before bed. These 60-minute classes are ideal for anyone returning to Yoga practice, beginning a new Yoga journey and seeking ways to connect body and mind. Using Yogic breath work, postures, sound and meditation, these classes will help you to declutter your mind, improve strength and mobility and reconnect with your inner self. How to find us: Our Sherwood Community Centre courses and classes are now held in the Annex studio. On arrival, you can park in the SCC car park and walk along a short path to the right of the main reception. You will find the external door to the Annex at the end of the path. The external door will open 10 minutes before the start of the class. Please arrive in plenty of time for changing, using the facilities and in time for a prompt start.
